Meet the “Miraband”
even though i may be a solo artist, everything i do is made possible by the help of my friends
Before I started making music with other people, all my songs stayed in my notebook, in my head, and in my voice memos. It’s my community - their talent and their kindness - that allows me to take my ideas and turn them into something. Without them, I never would have stepped on a stage or in front of a microphone. My music is a love letter to the people that love me - I do it all for them and I couldn’t do it without them. Read more about my wonderful friends below!
Matt
Matt Sablan, or Sabyu as he’s called on stage, is the first person I share any new song with. He possesses the magical ability to read my mind and always understand the vibe I’m going for. He’s my producer, guitarist, drummer, sounding-board, confidant, and I am his biggest fan. Matt’s music is honest and joyful and a beautiful expression of the A+ person that he is; go check it out!

Grafton
Grafton Downs, aka Graffy D, is almost too good at music. Not only are his technical skills off the charts; he’s dedicated, creative, and funny. Grafton has great taste (he shares my love for Ratatouille, The Muppets, and ABBA) and the music he makes (under the name “Skid Mark”) is both insanely fun and so smart it makes my brain hurt. I couldn’t ask for a better bassist or friend. Check out his tunes!

Pak
Daniel Pak is my mentor. He’s taught me everything from singing technique to the belief that I am a valuable person. Pak has helped me create a sense of identity and community through my music and at this point he’s just family. He sometimes acts as my producer, manager, or even my boss. Pak’s music is nothing short of incredible; check it out and enjoy the good vibes.

Thadd
Thaddeus Turner is another one of my incredible mentors. He plays basically every instrument ever (and plays them all fantastically) and is one of the most sarcastic, funny, and kind people I’ve ever met. He’s made all kinds of music with all kinds of people and his advice is invaluable. He’s always there for you when you need him and always plays like a beast.

Cirrus
In the time I’ve known Cirrus Levine, my Spotify on-repeat playlist has never once not featured at least one of his songs. I simply adore his music - it’s so intelligently constructed but also always feels fun and accessible and honest. Of course, I adore him, the person, as well: he’s one of those people that always manages to make you feel truly good about yourself. He’s an incredible multi-instrumentalist/producer and his solo project, Greenhorn Riot, is simply some of my favorite music.
Lukas
The first time I met Lukas Sevtich, I asked if he played the guitar. He shrugged. “Kinda,” he said. Cut to - a month later, the first time I saw Lukas on stage - I could barely lift my goddamn jaw off the floor. Kinda??? I don’t know what devil he made a deal with (although I do know that devil got the bum end of that deal) but that boy can play. As soon as I saw him I thought to myself oh my god I wish I could 1) be friends with that person and 2) play with them! And now I get to do both! And it’s incredible!
Sam
Sam Clement is one of those rare people who somehow manage to be simultaneously insanely talented and insanely kind. And I’m not sure if there’s a better combination of two things to be. He’s an incredible drummer and EDM producer - his music makes me feel so happy, as does playing with him - and also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever have the joy of talking to. He’s a part of an electronic jazz duo, Sundust, you gotta check out!
Michael Grant
Michael Grant, who is always referred to by either 1) his full name, 2) “MG”, or 3) as “Bob Ross”, is an incredible pianist with whom I occasionally have the joy of collaborating. He is such a kind, patient, wonderful person and he can play the piano like nobody’s business. Seriously, I don’t usually even like the piano that much but Bob Ross makes me reconsider.

Ollie
I met Olivia Green in first grade, although we didn’t become close friends until twelfth. I was banging my head against our desk during American Gov/Econ, crying about how I desperately needed a drummer by the end of the week. Ollie casually looked up from her work and said “oh, I play the drums”. I’m so lucky to have Ollie; she’s one of the bravest, coolest people I know.

Zoser
Zoser Dunbar is a great guitarist, a fantastic singer/songwriter, and one of the best friends I could ever hope to have. We write music together, debate over what’s the best teen drama (he’s team One Tree Hill, I’m team Buffy), and it’s always an honor and a joy to have him back me up on guitar. I listen to Zoser’s music on the daily; it’s catchy yet soulful, fun yet honest, and just so good.
Kiddus
Kiddus McLeod, or Kiddus Fecto as he’s known by his friends and fans (I consider myself both), is a producer, singer, songwriter, and rapper. Kiddus exclusively produces straight fire and is always infectiously excited about not only his music, but the music of everyone with whom he shares community. Kiddus sometimes backs me up on stage with keys, which is always a joy.
