Won’t Someone Write a Love Song About Me?
Won’t Someone Write a Love Song About Me? is a song about exactly what you think a song with that title would be about. After writing all those love songs I thought to myself, jeez, I wish someone would write one of these about me. It doesn’t feel very fair that I’m writing so many of these and I don’t get to have one of my own. WSWALSAM (what a catchy acronym, I know) is very indicative of this new songwriting mentality of mine: it’s incredibly emotionally vulnerable (it’s literally me spelling out exactly what I want and how desperately I want it and how I feel about not having it and the whole thing comes across as a little pathetic and awkward and sad) but it’s also not taking itself too seriously (a lot of the lyrics are intentionally funny in a way I think adds to the vulnerability of it without being cruel or mocking towards myself) and it was incredibly fun to write.
